If You Seek Him, He Will Be Found

2 Chronicles 2:2 contains this promise, “The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you…”

Anyone who follows this blog site knows I love nature. Birds, waterways, fish, otters, beavers, flowers, butterflies. Sandhill Cranes and the the rare Whooping Cranes.

I meet God in nature. My soul is stirred by the beauty and wonders of nature. When the Sandhills are massing and flying and calling, I can almost imagine the angel choruses we are going to hear when we meet our Lord face-to-face.

I’ll tell you what. There’s a whole lot of depressing stuff happening right now. Wars where old folks and children live in fear of bombs and drones. Earthquakes that kill an unreal number of people. Gun violence, murder, school shootings. Vile political rhetoric and carrying on. Hearing people at the grocery store saying they can’t afford to eat.

I can’t fix any of that. But I CAN direct people’s attention to all of the goodness the Lord created. And it’s sure out there! In every direction. God is still in the creation business. Still in the business of helping jaded, weary people find joy, peace, and solace for the soul.
