There truly is something to be done in the garden at every point during the year. As we are cleaning out the flower beds of this year’s dead annuals, we are also dead heading to have seeds for next year.
I had a goal to fill up the compost barrels so at a point in the future we can use it as mulch and nutrients to feed next year’s plants.
Mom and I both love to have lots of chopped up leaves for mulching in the garden. I got a jump on this year’s leaves, and today I heard words I never would have heard Mom utter, “I think that’s enough leaves.” What???
We have had some beautiful Fall weather. Wonderful days to spend in the garden getting ready for the cold and also dreaming about next year.
