Mom was out watering in the garden, and decided I needed a bouquet of flowers to brighten my day. She packed a lot of goodness into a small vase!

Larkspur, marigolds, Cosmos, salvia, day-lilies, Shasta Daisy, coleus, fern frond, zinnias snapdragon, blanket flower, parsley.
Sometimes we spend so much time in the garden focusing on the tasks—mowing, weeding, trimming, watering—that we forget to look around and enjoy the flowers.
We probably do the same with God. We focus so much on our problems and our projects that we lose sight of the grace and goodness and hope that we have been given.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 tells us: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” (NIV).
Here’s my gentle encouragement for today: quit focusing so much on the weeds in your garden of life, and start enjoying the flowers!
