For the last couple of months of Dad’s life, one thing that always seemed to bring him pleasure was to get in the car and ride around the countryside. Since I am obsessed with Sandhill Cranes and Whooping Cranes, we combined our two loves. Dad’s job was to spot “the white guys” as Mom always instructed him.
Most of the time, he would spot the Whooping Cranes before Mom or I. He would smirk and grin.

While we were out and about, we started noticing all the great barns. Birds and barns. What could be better?

We always observed the speed limit!

After Dad passed, Mom and I decided to keep up the travels! We have covered A LOT of Jennings County, and have also passed through Jackson, Decatur, Jefferson and a bit of Bartholomew. (We may have gotten a little lost in Scott County one day!) Almost everywhere we have gone, we have seen beauty. A recurrent comment we both make is “It’s beautiful out here!”

Thanks for joining us on our journeys!

Love this!
